IQ stands for "intelligence quotient" and, in short, it is a measure of a person’s reasoning ability. In other words, an IQ test is supposed to gauge how well someone can use information and logic to answer questions or make predictions. A real intelligence quotient test is a structured, researched, and clinical assessment with psychological backing conducted by a trained professional. Unlike the gimmicky ‘cognitive tests’ online, if you actually want your own or your child’s IQ you need an actual, valid reason to undertake the test. A psychologist is unlikely to administer a test just to indulge in your curiosity.
