Boxing is a combat sport and martial art. Taking place in a boxing ring, it involves two opponents throwing punches at each other for a predetermined amount of time, it is usually done wearing protective equipment, such as protective gloves, hand wraps, and mouthguards. There are eight basic punches in boxing, with six of them: the jab, cross, lead hook, rear hook, lead uppercut, and rear uppercut being the most used. The lead overhand and rear overhand are the remaining basic punches. Any punch other than a jab is considered a power punch.
